Iran to Make Comeback at Olympics

The team which would be the underdogs this year was drawn to be placed in the same group as the Defending gold medalists Argentina, Australia and Russia - each of which features at least one NBA player has very little chances if at all of making an impact. Williams to get 4 Year Extension

Bob McClaren, star point guard Deron Williams‘ agent, told the media on Thursday that Williams has agreed to a contract extension. This will be a $70M deal. Williams has agreed to a three-year extension with a player option for the fourth year. This agreement is similar to the one New Orleans point guard Chris Paul got recently. Paul’s deal was a reported $68 million. This new deal will give Utah Jazz an advantage and will see the fans standing in long lines for the tickets.

It seems like nowadays sports fans take the iniative to attend sporting events rather than watch on the TV. We see this as less and less tickets become available for popular events and people will do just about anything to experience sporting events live. They will pay well above face value for tickets because to them it is worth it, and it should be. These are experiences you will only have once in a lifetime and there is no price tag on that. I love to attend all sporting events no matter which of my home teams is in season. With new rivalries and of course the old ones, why wouldn’t you want to see just exactly what the atmosphere is. Sure you can sit in a bar or in your house screaming, but to actually experience it live is on a whole nother level. The sports world is kind to us by giving us 364 days a year of pure entertainment and we owe it to ourselves to take part in the action and not sit back and enjoy but live in the moment.

Robert Horry interested in one more NBA season

The 38 year old San Antonio Spurs forward Robert Horry has revealed his intentions of playing in the NBA for one more year and said that he was not thinking of retirement at this moment. Horry said that he wanted to set things right for all that has happened in the last season and is hoping that he will get a chance to feature in his 17^th NBA season. Robert Horry, a free agent from July 1^st, has expressed his interest to either play for Spurs or for Houston Rockets this coming season. There is no doubt that Horry fans will be rushing to buy tickets to watch this veteran player in action.

Astros pitcher Shawn suspended indefinitely

The Astros pitcher Shawn Chacon will not be seen in the future games for the Houston team as he was suspended from the roster indefinitely for showing unruly behavior on general manager Ed Wade. There are reports that Shawn manhandled his manager by grabbing his neck and pushing him on the ground for being relegated to the bullpen during the weekend. Shawn Chacon is a worried man as he is worried about not pitching in the majors again. A clear picture on Chacon’s future will be only known after how this serious issue is reviewed and resolved. But, for now, fans with tickets to the Houston Astros games will not be seeing one of the sports worlds ace pitcher in action.

Zambrano is put on a 15 day disabled list

The Chicago Cub’s ace baseball pitcher Big Carlos Zambrano has been sent by the management to a 15 day disabled list due to a minor right shoulder strain as the Cubs felt that a couple of games rest for their starting pitcher will do him no harm to his preparations in the upcoming crucial games. The Cubs took an MRI scan on his right shoulder in order to confirm the seriousness of the injury. The scan fortunately did not reveal any structural damage and hence Zambrano will be okay within a couple of weeks. The sports world is anticipating even better performances from Zambrano in the days ahead and it is this anticipation that is driving the fans to buy tickets for the Cubs games.

Linebacker Colvin roped in by Texans

The Houston Texans, in an attempt to increase the push run this football season, has signed linebacker and former New England Patriots player Rosevelt Colvin. The 32 year old rusher Colvin is happy to have signed with Houston Texans after playing with Patriots and Bears in his nine year career so far. Free agent Rosevelt Colvin has agreed with the terms of Texans, but the signing amount has been kept under wraps. Colvin has said that he is comfortable playing in any position in the Texans ream and is concentrating hard on being fit for the entire season. Tickets to the Texans games are up for grabs now.

Peavy makes a comeback to the Padres team with a win

The San Diego Padres ace pitcher Jake Peavy, a highly rated sports personality, did not show any signs of injury to his elbow as he came out and pitched for six innings after a one month lay off against the Los Angeles Dodgers to help his team score a convincing 9-0 win last Thursday in their home ground. The Padres batters helped his cause by scoring five runs in the first inning itself. Peavy did not look even a wee bit out of touch and his comeback game was thoroughly enjoyed by his fans who had purchased tickets for the game. Peavy said that he was happy with his pitching heroics but felt that he needs to improve a lot to take his team to greater heights.

The Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb will miss the entire week of passing camp as well as the organized team activities (OTA) after suffering from a shoulder tendinitis. McNabb has been instrumental in taking the Eagles to the Super Bowl in 2004 and his injury is a major cause of concern for the Eagles camp. McNabb is known for his injury problems right through his career and the sport’s leading player is expected to return to practiced after two weeks of treatment, according to Eagles head coach Andy Reid.
