Championships Overseas

Felix Magath, coach of Wolfsburg in the German Bundesliga soccer, can smile for once. His team finally took the title for the first time ever. The team came close in the first half of the 2004-5 season, when they just bowled over all the competition. Last year, they almost were relegated to the 2nd league, but they were able to hold out and brought in Mr. Magath. He led the team to win out against Bayern Munich and it’s great to see another team winning for once. As usual, this will bring up a lot of grumbling down in Bavaria, where there will be drama and anger that they didn’t win. There will probably be personnel changes and all that kind of thing. But for now, Wolfsburg is the winner!
