Wang

Chien Ming Wang had an awful start with the Yankees this season. He was a starting pitcher hoping to help the team compete for the AL East. But after 3 games, racking up an ERA of 32.50, he was taken out of the lineup, the team deciding that there might have actually been some kind of problem. It turns out that there are some issues involved with his lower body strength, which he probably lost while he was out during most of last season. So he’s out in one of the various training leagues, making his legs stronger and staying with lower pitch counts. It sounds like he’s happy to have a clear reason why he was pitching so poorly and a way to fix it up. He’ll be ready to go again in just a little while, it sounds like.
