We’ve got a series!
Posted on Oct 24, 2008 under Philadelphia Phillies, Tampa Bay Rays, World Series |
The World Series is evened up today because the Tampa Bay Rays won Game 2 4-2. Now we have split two games in Tampa and the series moves up to Philly for the next three games. The Phillies are certainly happy to be going home, with a chance to win the Series at home, but they don’t want to get overconfident about it. They know that they have to play their game better. They won the first game despite going 0 for 13 with runners in scoring position. They didn’t do all that much better last night either. In the World Series, you have to be able to put your runners over the plate. Tampa, on the other hand, seems to be feeling good about their situation. They have been able to neutralize parts of the Philadelphia game and their pitchers are coming through for them. Since they didn’t expect to be this far in the first place, it probably all feels like icing on the cake. Yes, they have to take at least one game in Philly, but that seems easy enough for them at this point. This World Series has become a very tight contest now, so stay tuned!
