Michael Phelps won his 5rd gold at the Olympics by winning the 4x 200 m relay Freestyle event. He has now won 5 gold medals at the games. The previous day he had won his third gold and registered himself in history to become only the fifth person ever to have won 9 career gold medals at the Olympics. Phelps looks all set to achieve the magical figure of 8 gold medals. He finished up with 6 gold medals in Athens in 2004 and since then has never looked back. American swimmers Aaron Peirsol and Liesel Jones also made the nation proud by winning gold in their respective categories.
