Soria happy with the extension deal

Kansas City Royals and Joakim Soria made a deal of $8.75 million with three year extension of the contract. According to Soria, it was a big deal for him as it gives security for his family and career. He turned 24 yesterday. Soria was picked up in the winter meeting draft of 2006 when he was left by San Diego Padres. He made 2.48 ERA in 2007 and has 17 out of 21 save chances to his credit. According to the deal, he will receive $426,500 in this year, $ 1 million in next year, $ 3 million in 2010 season and in 2011 he will be eligible for $ 4 million.
