The Portuguese striker Cristiano Ronaldo was in sublime form for Manchester United against Bolton in the English Premiership soccer game played at the team’s home stadium, Old Trafford last Wednesday and he was instrumental in United beating the Bolton 2-0. This was Ronaldo’s 33rd goal for Manchester United this season and he has now surpassed United’s winger George Best as the Manchester United winger to score maximum goals in a season in the Red Devil’s history. Ronaldo scored twice against the Bolton side and has put his team as clear favorites for the Premiership Title. The Manchester United team is now three points clear of their arch rivals Arsenal, who is in the 2nd position of the Premiership table, and there are only eight more games to be played this season.

The second goal by Ronaldo was the one that took him past George Best’s record of 32 goals in a single season set in the year 1967-68 and one that was also acknowledged as a genius goal by Bolton boss Gary Megson. Alex Ferguson, the Manchester United manager, was very happy with the effort of Ronaldo and showered praises for his performance in the Premiership this season. Ronaldo also captained the side against Bolton as Wayne Rooney, Rio Ferdinand and Gary Neville, all had sat out the match.
