Bleu Jays want Glaus for Cardinals’ Rolen

The Toronto Blue Jays have landed  Scott Rolen in a trade. The Jays had to give up Glaus to the Cardinals and they got Rolen instead. He has been beset by injures the past couple of seasons. The deal is contingent on both players passing physicals. The Cardinals had to agree to pay a $4-million bonus that is due Rolen by the end of his contract

The Buffalo Bills’ training staff held a refresher course in the team’s field house on how to deal with serious injuries during a game. Eleven days before Kevin Everett suffered a catastrophic injury at Ralph Wilson Stadium. The Bills’ training staff was recognized for its work when it was named the NFL training staff of the year for 2007. The award is given annually by the Pro Football Athletic Trainers Society

The Bobcats Defeat the Celtics

The Boston Celtics at PlayJason Richardson from the Bobcats scored 34 points and grabbed 9 rebounds, Gerald Wallace from the Celtics had 15 points and 10 rebounds, and the Charlotte Bobcats defeated the host Boston Celtics, 95-83, on Wednesday. From the Boston side, the game was made by Kevin Garnett who led the team with 24 points and 8 rebounds. The Bobcats playing was led, 72-65, after three quarters and made it 81-70 on a layup by Richardson with 7 minutes 8 seconds to play.

Chris Osgood Signs a Three-Year Extension with the Wings

Chris Osgood has signed a three-year extension with the team. Osgool leads the NHL in both goals-against average and save percentage. He has a 19-2-1 record in 22 appearances. No other NHL goaltender  has only two regulation losses.

January 19 marks the sixth annual visit to Dr Pepper Ballpark by the Texas Rangers Round Up Winter Caravan. Frisco RoughRiders fans can take this opportunity to choose a ticket plan and select their seats for the upcoming season in addition to getting autographs from some of their favorite Rangers. The gates will open at 1:00 PM and RoughRiders sales staff will be on hand to assist fans in selecting their seats.
